Background  

Genesis Henderson will be the Principal of CCPA East Elementary serving grades K-6. She is the current Principal of CCPA West Elementary and previously served as Assistant Principal beginning in 2003. Ms. Henderson is one of the most dedicated educators you will ever meet and says the highlight of her day is greeting the smiling faces of students as they arrive to school happy and eager to learn. She also says the most rewarding part of her job is working with the outstanding staff and families of CCPA to build bridges for maximized student learning.

Ms. Henderson earned a BA in Criminology from The Ohio State University, a MA in Educational Leadership from Miami University and holds a principal's certificate from the Ohio Department of Education.

 Ms. Henderson’s vision for the school:

As the principal at CCPA East, it is my responsibility to help set and carry-out the vision for the school. The success of the children falls on my shoulders and high-expectations need to be evident. Children learn best when they are in a learning environment that has been shaped by developmentally appropriate and research-based practices. In order to develop our students to their fullest, the vision for success is to not only teach the basic academic skills, but also have a program that focuses on each child’s holistic needs. With a holistic focus on the children, we are able to challenge and produce students who are well on their way to a successful school career and life. Our children have a good start to prepare them for higher education and this fast-changing and complex world.
