Preparation for higher learning is the major focus of CCPA. The program design is for both prevention and enhancement and involved two key components:
1) Advanced college preparatory course work
2) Innovative programming called “Imaginary University”.
Advanced college preparatory course work
Academic course work is rigorous for students in all grades but advanced programming begins for students in grade three. Students take courses that build on state testing outcomes and that prepare them for higher learning challenges.
This advanced programming involves (1) Exposure to higher math and science skills including labs, (2) Mastery learning in all subjects taught using multiple intelligences, and (3) Development of individual gifts and talents that allow students to flourish.
